Akta Air 1920

The Act provides for the control of rivers and streams and restoration of river banks in case of interference by private persons. The diversion of water from rivers for private, domestic, industrial and other purposes or for the cultivation of rice as well as any other act affecting rivers are subject to the issuance of a licence by the State Authority. The Act prohibits the discharge of waste and any other poisonous, noxious or polluting substance, unless expressely authorized by the State Authority.

Suatu Akta untuk menubuhkan Lembaga Biokeselamatan Kebangsaan untuk mengawal selia pelepasan, pengimportan, pengeksportan dan kegunaan terkawal organisma diubah suai yang hidup, dan pelepasan hasilan organisma sedemikian, dengan tujuan melindungi kesihatan manusia, tumbuh-tumbuhan dan haiwan, alam sekitar dan kepelbagaian biologi, dan jika terdapat ancaman kerosakan yang tidak dapat dikembalikan seperti sedia kala, kekurangan bukti saintifik yang sepenuhnya tidak boleh dijadikan sebab untuk tidak mengambil tindakan untuk mencegah kerosakan itu, dan untuk mengadakan peruntukan bagi perkara-perkara yang berkaitan dengannya.
