Item Embargo Distributions and health risks of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in atmospheric aerosols of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia(Elsevier, 2006) Nasr Yousef M.J. Omar; Tan Chin Mon; Noorsaadah A. Rahman; M. Radzi Bin AbasThe concentrations and distributions of particle bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) collected over a 10 month period in ambient environment, at street levels as well as during a hazy episode are reported. Ambient and street level distributions of PAHs were similar and their occurrence was attributed to vehicular emissions. However, in haze particles, a different pattern of PAHs was observed, characterized by relatively low levels of benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) and high levels of benzofluoranthenes (BFs).Item Embargo Organic composition of aerosol particulate matter during a haze episode in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia(Elsevier, 2004) M. Radzi Bin Abas; Noorsaadah A. Rahman; Nasr Yousef M.J. Omar; M. Jamil Maah; Azizan Abu Samah; Daniel R. Oros; Angelika Otto; Bernd R.T. SimoneitcThe solvent-extractable compounds of urban airborne particulate matter were analyzed to determine the distributions of homologous and biomarker tracers. Samples were collected by high-volume air filtration during the haze episode of 1997 around the University of Malaya campus near Petaling Jaya, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
