Abstract
Report on Peninsular Malaysia Generation Development Plan 2020 (2021-2039) was established to provide projection of electricity demand growth with the consideration of the economic parameters, taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic impact, emerging trends and disruptive technology, to provide projection of generation capacity requirement to meet demand and ensure adequacy and security of supply and also to address the energy trilemma by balancing the trade-offs between energy security (to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply to meet the demand), affordability (to ensure electricity supply is reasonably priced for the long-term benefit of both consumers and producers) and environmental sustainability (to address carbon emission in the power sector).
