Item Restricted Hydrogeochemistry and groundwater quality assessment of the multilayered aquifer in Lower Kelantan Basin, Kelantan, Malaysia(Springer, 2018) Anuar Sefie; Ahmad Zaharin Aris; Mohammad Firuz Ramli; Tahoora Sheikhy Narany; Mohd Khairul Nizar Shamsuddin; Syaiful Bahren Saadudin; Munirah Abdul ZaliContinual expansion of population density, urbanization, agriculture, and industry in most parts of the world has increased the generation of pollution, which contributes to the deterioration of surface water quality. This causes the dependence on groundwater sources for their daily needs to accumulate day by day, which raises concerns about their quality and hydrogeochemistry. This study was carried out to increase understanding of the geological setup and assess the groundwater hydrogeochemical characteristics of the multilayered aquifers in Lower Kelantan Basin.Item Embargo Tracing sewage contamination based on sterols and stanols markers within the mainland aquatic ecosystem: a case study of Linggi catchment, Malaysia(Springer, 2021) Munirah Abdul Zali; Hafizan Juahir; Azimah Ismail; Ananthy Retnam; Azrul Normi Idris; Anuar Sefie; Ismail Tawnie; Syaiful Bahren Saadudin; Masni Mohd AliSewage contamination is a principal concern in water quality management as pathogens in sewage can cause diseases and lead to detrimental health effects in humans. This study examines the distribution of seven sterol compounds, namely coprostanol, epi-coprostanol, cholesterol, cholestanol, stigmasterol, campesterol, and β-sitosterol in filtered and particulate phases of sewage treatment plants (STPs), groundwater, and river water.
