Item Embargo Indoor and Outdoor Particulate Matter Concentrations in the Vicinity of Plastic Waste Processing Industries(IOP Publishing, 2020) Sara Yasina Yusuf; Nur Alis Addiena A Rahim; Wan Zulaikha Wazam; Dewika Naidu; Ruwaida JamianWhile plastic recycling has gained conclusive acceptance by various stakeholders as a preferable products' end-of-life management, plastic waste processing industries may contribute to serious air pollutants emission and impair human health, especially if it is in uncontrolled conditions. Apart from toxic gas pollutants, this industry may also emit significant concentration of particulates matter or dust, notably via physical (shredding, sorting, and washing) and melt (re-granulation and reprocessing) processes. Meanwhile, in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia, public anguish is increasing in recent years due to mushrooming plastic waste recycling industries in its residential area. Thus, astudy was conducted to analyse the day- and night-time ambient air PM10 levels and their relationship with selected meteorological parameters (ambient temperature, relative humidity and wind speed) at two different locations (Cinta Sayang Resort Villa, CSRV and Metro Specialist Hospital, HM) in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia.Item Embargo Spatial and Temporal Analysis of Particulate Matter (PM10) in Urban-Industrial Environment during Episodic Haze Events in Malaysia(Thai Society of Higher Eduation Institutes on Environment, 2023) Izzati Amani Mohd Jafri; Norazian Mohamed Noor; Nur Alis Addiena A Rahim; Ahmad Zia Ul-Saufie; Zulkarnain Hassan; György DeakHaze episode in Malaysia typically takes place during the dry monsoon season. As a result, high concentration of atmospheric particles was recorded primarily brought by transboundary air pollution from the neighbour country. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate and compare the level of particulate matter (PM10) at urban-industrial areas during the episodic haze episodes in Malaysia
