Morphology and channel characteristics of an equatorial tropical river in Malaysian Borneo: a detailed evaluation through spatially explicit geomorphometric modelling
    (Springer, 2017) H. Vijith; D. Dodge-Wan
Geomorphic and morphodynamic characteristics of Akah River in Sarawak, Malaysia in north-western Borneo were modelled using geographical information system assisted techniques and geomorphometric indices. Stream properties such as longitudinal profile, stream length gradient index (SL), channel slope, hypsometric curve, hypsometric integral, sinuosity index and channel cross profiles were analyzed.

Spatial and statistical trend characteristics of rainfall erosivity (R) in upper catchment of Baram River, Borneo
    (Springer, 2019) H. Vijith; D. Dodge-Wan
The upper catchment region of the Baram River in Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo) is undergoing severe land degradation due to soil erosion. Heavy rainfall with high erosive power has led to a number of soil erosion hotspots. The goal of the present study is to generate an understanding about the spatial characteristics of seasonal and annual rainfall erosivity (R), which not only control sediment delivery from the region but also determine the quantity of material potentially eroded.

Spatial and temporal characteristics of rainfall over a forested river basin in NW Borneo
    (Springer, 2019) H. Vijith; D. Dodge-Wan
The spatial and temporal patterns of rainfall over the Baram River Basin (BR) in Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo) were characterised through cluster analysis and multivariate statistics for the 25 year period from 1990 to 2014. Baram River Basin recorded an average annual rainfall of 3654 mm with high spatial and temporal variations.
